Oberon Gas Cap Anodizing/Fade
«

I'm looking for a new gas cap for my bike. The one I bought on ebay faded in like 2 months...it went from black to this brass looking color in no time.
I like the oberon setup and want to get the black base w/a gold cap but I'm afraid of the same thing happening again.
For those of you with Oberon gear have you noticed any fade? If they do fade how long did it take?
Thanks.

You could go the powdercoating route. Did that to mine, worked out perfectly.

I thought about that also. How much did you pay for that? Any issues?

Not sure of the cost but it wasn't that expensive as it was part of a batch process (maybe $40 bucks). The guys that did the work for me even color matched the gas tank cap to my Duc. In terms of fit afterwards, everything worked perfectly. There wasn't that awful milling issue cause powdercoat stuff got stuck in the screw lines or anything.

Id drop a line on Oberon. They are a quality manufacturer and I've not heard of their parts fading so excessively. It may be covered under a warrenty
