Simo is going to push too hard tomorrow.

Spies did very well today. I think we'll see something out of him

Great racecraft shown by Crashy McSmurf. I hate the guy but today I hate him just a lil less.

Gotta say, I felt a bit burned by Dovi and his last second pass of Rossi...but damn nice snag at the end.

I know the bikes are different, and may be the answer to this question should be obvious....but I don't understand why Ducatis are competitive in WSBK but so far not so much in MOTOGP  ?

Riders ?

Doesn't that come with some weight penalty having the extra ccs.

What I meant about the Riders .

The Hondas are faster this year it seems and the Ducs are slower.

By now Nicky should be able to ride a Duc to the front if it is fast enough and for sure Rossi if he is familar w. the Desmo.

I was kind of joking, but in any case, I think the intake restrictor is a much more significant penalty than the weight one.

My guess is as good as yours why Ducati is having some trouble in MotoGP, but I don't think it's a rider problem, even considering Stoner's success.

To me, WSBK is more fun to watch than MOTOGP.

More suspense as to the final outcome.

It does seem to be more closely matched in wsbk

Go watch a 6 or 12 hour race, with multiple pit stops and rider changes if you really want to see some fun racing.

Me too. I love WSBK, it kicks ass! MotoGP is 90% as good. MotoGP is good enough for me to make the trek to Austin whenever that happens. But I'd rather drive further to see a WSBK race. Hey, you get two races for the price of one and the support race is better too! Grin waytogo

Can't say about WSBK, but here's Rossi's recent take on MotoGP...from motomatters.com (emmett)

"...Valentino Rossi was far more forthright in his opinions about the riders complaining about aggressive moves. Rossi conceded that in 250s, Simoncelli had made a few moves "at the limit", but in MotoGP, his moves had not been beyond the pail. The problem, Rossi avowed, lay elsewhere: "For me, the problem is that big part of MotoGP riders now are pussies," Rossi declared. "In the past, this is normal, the riders were more like real men. Now it is more like they are children."

My personal opinion is the carbon chassis they keep trying to use.   I think if Ducati designed a chassis out of a more conventional material, they would have more success, but they seem dead set on using carbon because its exotic.  From what I understand, the carbon fiber is very progressive on initial flex, but the snap back is not nearly as progressive, so you get no feel and a twitchy bike.  I believe a more conventional metal alloy chassis would be smoother in both directions and provide a better bike to work with.  Its never been their engines.

Nicky was fastest through the speed trap on the Duc.

It's not all about how 'fast' the bike is.
