New riding season.

Went on twisty ride that I always go on and practice and  try to get better each time.

Well first 20 miles, I turned back into pussy.  I mean it was like brand new and just mind getting trippy about each little corner.

Even after I got clipped few weeks ago, I was riding really good and not like this.  After 20 miles, I warmed up and got into a groove.

You guys encounter that?  How do you fight it off ?

Took me a few months before I was fully confident going through corners again after I had an off. I just tried to get out as much as I could and practice. One thing I was told that really helped a noob like me was to death grip the tank with your knees and give your arms a little flap like a chicken before each set of twisties to make sure you're loose upstairs instead of death gripping the bars going through the bends. I seemed to want to tense up when it came to the bendy bits as that is where I came off. For me it was a time thing for others it may not be the same as we are all different. I think it is human nature - A once bitten, twice shy thing. Just keep at it and each ride your confidence increases again.

Good luck with it all  waytogo

Everybody experiences this phenomenon, ab.  Just get out and ride and the rust will fall away as your confidence builds.

If you think it's bad on a street ride, try your first real ride of the season at the first race of the season.  It can be humbling.   Embarrassed

Yep, happens to many of us I'm sure.  20 miles can be considered quite quick though.  I usually take it easy the first week or two of each riding season [moto]

Out here in SoCal, our riding season is year-round, but every weekend, I find myself not getting into the groove for the first few miles of twisties.  It just takes your body time to warm up and get loose.  Riding on slab to get to the twists doesn't help either.

Once your body is loose, you'll be able to move around on the bike easier, and your mind will be able to focus on the next corner without the bother of what your body is doing.

I usually will take a little pit stop right before the twists.  I'll pull over, stretch a little bit to get loose and focus my mind.  Trust me, it helps!  waytogo

I only see jesus having a sauna with a teletubbie.
I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it
