Out here in SoCal, our riding season is year-round, but every weekend, I find myself not getting into the groove for the first few miles of twisties. It just takes your body time to warm up and get loose. Riding on slab to get to the twists doesn't help either.
Once your body is loose, you'll be able to move around on the bike easier, and your mind will be able to focus on the next corner without the bother of what your body is doing.
I usually will take a little pit stop right before the twists. I'll pull over, stretch a little bit to get loose and focus my mind. Trust me, it helps!
