the key reason for a remap is the intake.. if you go with a highflow airfilter setup then you need a remap.

just exhausts usually doesn't require it

No, you can install the exhaust all by itself. The bike may not run as "good" with the correct ecu, but it will certainly run.

A ton of people on here are running different exhaust setups without the dp ecu(myself included).

I would send you stock ecu to be flashed/mapped for your exhaust, but it is not needed to ride the bike.

so how can i get the best performance with the Termi exhaust?
Are you meaning that even i change the ECU to 796 Termi ECU, the bike maybe not run as "good" ??

What is the main difference of having:

a) Slipons with DP ECU and k&N Hi flow air filter installed
b) Slipons with stock ECU and stock Air filter

will there be any long term problems or even immediate issues if you have Option B?

Option A provides more power and should cause the bike to run better(result of better hi flowing intake and improved mapping of ecu).

Option b will run perfectly fine. You will still see slight gains due to slip-ons... However, you will not get as much power due to the limited oem intake and oem mapping.

Thanks, thats really helpful. Theres been quite a few guys telling me that just having slipons (without mods to ECU and airfilter) will not work (some say it wont work at all!) etc due to the o2 sensors and a bunch of other stuff and got me pondering if I should save up for the whole package.

While on the topic of reflashing, what is the going price? Plus who in North America/Canada is doing reflashes?
