I am interested in this exhaust (SKU 9116707B) for my S2R 1000. The description says it fits the S4R and S4RS. I have seen posts for S2R models showing "open Cat/Utter" setups without new ECU chips or airbox mods needed. Is there a reason why on this pipe would not work on a S2R? I think  that the exhaust fitting set-up is the same from the cat back on the S4R/S and the S2R Undecided.

Quick google didn't get me anything for that number... so I'm guessing a little.

If they are just slip-ons they should for any S*R bikes.  But if it's a midpipe and can set up it won't work on your bike.  The 4 valve bikes have a deep sump so things are arranged a little differently.  A full system won't work at all due to the deep sump and 2 exhaust valves vs your 1

Correct, the basic slip-ons should fit from the S4R to the S2R, but not the full system.  Pipes are totally different in their bend and volume needed to accommodate the breathing of the 4v engine.  Make sure you're getting the proper system for your 2v Monster if you're going with the full system.

Sorry, I should have provided more info. The SKU (96116707B) is from the ducati.com website - monster exhaust section. It is just a "shortie" exhaust pipe that bolts directly to the cat, not a full system. I dont know how to insert the link Roll Eyes.

If my memory serves me correctly from TOB, I remember reading that the Shortie Exhaust would not fit on the S2R udder (Somebody ordered it and tried it?) Outlet pipes where different diameter or different location?

Hi there,
Yes, you can fit it with minor modifications. I have an 07 s2r 1000 and was able to fit one in mine without much trouble. I know a guy tried it before me and he did not succeed, but I am at a loss as to why. The pipes comming out of the udder on the s4r and s are bigger than those of the s2r, so I put sleves over the pipes of my udder and it worked fine. It sounds and runs great but I do have my O2 sensor diconnencted so it runs a bit rich instead of too lean. It's better to run rich than lean anyway. You will need smaller clamps, however, because the shortie is designed to go inside the udder pipes instead of outside like most exahusts. For this reason the clamps that come with the shortie are way too big.

Take a look at the photo on my signature for proof that it does work. Good luck!!

Excellent! Do you have any pics of the sleve mod? What size/diameter exhaust pipe used, etc.

Hey, just picked up a 2007 S2R 1000 (silver/black).  I am very interested in picking up the "shortie" but want to see some more pics of your bike.  Do you mind emailing me some to ross_hooks@yahoo.com?  The pic you have on your sig is a little small...

Thanks!
