i'm still debating if i should go up to the pnw.   its so far.  ironic considering i am going cross country.  but i've always wanted to go to vancouver so i figured i'd hit up seattle when i go to vancouver in the future.  but if you guys can convince me how awesome riding through northern cali and oregon is, then i may have to reconsider.

I was just trying to steer you clear of possible death by crossing the Arizona/California desert. Besides, that's a very LONG flat and boring ride anyway.

You're missing a lot of great roads if you skip Oregon and Washington. Historic Columbia River highway, HWY224 out to Detroit Lake, going to Crater lake, going out to Klickitat, Wa through Hood River, the possibilities are endless. Just have to come during the right time of year. Seeing the volcanos are pretty cool as well (Rainier, Hood, St. Helens).

Just Google "north cascade highway" and look at the pics of it. it's all you'll need to convince you!

is this the pic that is supposed to convince me?  rain and landslides?  j/k

i think i'm going to leave it open at this time.  i'm not gonna commit going to the pnw, but if the scenery gets betters as i'm riding up california, i'lll just continue on north.  if not, i'll head east to yellowstone
