...so I'm looking at maps on Google and see Glendora Mountain Road, which seems to turn into Glendora Ridge Road.

I've never been out that way.  Anyone have any tips about this route?  Are there any stops out that way for gas, coffee, breakfast, etc?

Anyone interested in meeting up, probably tomorrow, for a jaunt out that way?

I've gone up a few times.  I've always taken Azusa Ave (39) up past the dam. Then a right on East Fork Rd which takes you to Glendora Mountain Rd (very technical).  I've never gone up Glendora Ridge Rd as I always turn right back down to the foothills.

There is a coffee shop on E. Fork that you can't miss, it's at the camp williams.  No gas up there.

I can't make it tomorrow as I have plans but have fun.

Its a fun, tight road waytogo

its close to me and has never been crowded or overrun with  Police

The occasional squid pack and sporadic car club will roll up there, but ive never seen any negative issues waytogo

Thanks to both for the tips.

I'll be heading up that way within an hour or so.

Well, I made it up to the 39 today, turned right at the bridge at East Fork Road and was heading out to GMR, but I took the turn off for the shooting park to check it out.  Spent too much time checking out the shooting ranges, so I just headed back the way I came.  At the bottom of the hill I turned around and went back to the EFR turn and then back down again.  Had a great ride.

Sold my truck a few months back so my S4RS has become a daily rider.  I've found my skills have improved greatly from the daily riding to and from work.  My lane splitting has become more natural as well.

Still, I need to make it out to GMR one of these days.

Dang, sorry I missed this thread, I coulda caught up with you. I'm pretty close to GMR. I'm guessing that you went to the folk's place in Upland (or am I thinking of the wrong person)? I'm right here in Upland too, so drop me a line the next time you're around.

Doesn't sound like you made it out GRR which is a good thing. I generally tell people to avoid it. Being a single lane cliff-side road invites all sorts of trouble. It doesn't see much travel, but when it does, it's not uncommon for cagers and bikers alike to be on the wrong side of the road or going a bit too fast on a blind turn (which makes up 75% of the turns). The lack of traffic means the road isn't as clean as it could be either but once in a while they run a street sweeper down that road to help with the debris. And yes, the street sweeper goes down the middle of the road.

is there a 'wrong' side when there's no center line?

Ride up this way this weekend....

Rumor has it there's a fairly large gathering of Ducati riders happening from Friday to Monday.

 Wink

IZ is riding in from Arizona, a couple of peeps are riding up from Sandy Eggo, and several from San Fran.  [moto]

Funny thing is, I looked at the rsvp list...  We have more females attending than males!  Shocked

Wait, on second thought...  Don't ride up to Santa Barbara this weekend!   Grin

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it
