i was a lurker, long before i was a poster & i still dont post anything of substance or that often.. but this does feel like an online family. you do get to know people by the posts they make. you learn about your real families & your jobs & the other things besides motorcycles that you care about. you figure out the people with a sense of humor & the ones that take life way too seriously.. some people on here you might feel close to like a brother & then others might seem like 3rd cousins twice removed & you barely know them at all. but, it's real i think. it's a snippet of real life & it's always sad to lose someone that was an integral part of a community like this.

i hope he knows he's missed & i hope there's lots of open roads still ahead of him. r.i.p. dolph  [moto]

Well said il dood.  I think you have said what many of DMF'ers feel about each other and about Dolph.  I have a lot of thoughts going thru my mind right now but can't seem to be able to find the right words to express how I am feeling.  This will surely be one of those sleepless nights for self reflection...

This is what I remember about Dolph.  Lives his life to the fullest.  Passionate and personal.  He stands up to what he believes and speaks his mind, whether it's popular or not.

The post below is the perfect example on how he lives his life.  It's his response to the post on my accident / crash.  It gaves me the chills reading it now.

RIP Dolph.  You will be missed.  Cry  I hope to meet you one day at the big house.  You can show me a thing or two about riding...

Glad you weren't hurt worse Goat.

As an rider who has experienced to very violent crashes , ( either one could have killed me ,) many, many broken Bones, torn Tendons, Sprained Joints, Whip Lash, Crushed body parts, and lots of soft Tissue damage, I never did not want or fear getting back on a bike.

1st crash -3 months of recovery , 2nd crash-over a year ago and I still have Ribs that will not mend and a bum Shoulder.

I rode harder than ever this past Oct.- Nov.and riding scared is no way to ride.

I push the envelope right up to the edge but it's an edge I feel comfortable with.

Most wouldnt.

At anytime a Deer could walk out of the woods that I mostly ride through and at the speeds I ride it will be hit or miss.

Probably serious injury if not death if i hit the Deer.

Everyday we are faced with danger.

I would no more commute in LA traffic than walk blindfolded across an interstate , both directions.

I attack roads !

I'd like to think that puts me more in control of what happens for the most part.

I used to ride scared....scared of the next tight corner.

Now I respect the corners and welcome them ......but you can't just go blindly rushing into a corner and then clamp on the brakes .

I learned that the hard way..

Took me 2 years of practice doing corners at faster and faster speeds until I got to where I no longer ride in fear.

Good luck w, your recovery.

Ribs take 12 weeks to be fully healed if they are aligned.

Always ready with information for anybody that asked and provided it happily.  He was without a doubt one of the most recognizable members of the forum.

Wow... unreal.  Just seems so unreal.  Just plain make the beast with two backsing sad.  Having those strange feelings of disbelief/denial, and the thoughts of, "But he was just here what seems like yesterday."  Reading this thread and having all kinds of feelings like  Huh?  and  Cry  and   bang head  and  Angry

Damn. That sucks. Dolph and I sure had our share of disagreements on this board, but I'm pretty sure everyone (myself included) respected his exuberance for life and for riding. Definitely a big loss to our little community.

RIP Dolph.

sac

you said it perfectly for my +1

but to add, may his family find peace and solace amidst their loss of their loved one.

Strange feeling....  Sorrow.  A sense of real loss.  That I never met him, that I was never likely to meet him.... matters not at all.  We lost One Of Us.  make the beast with two backs  Cry
