last summer was a 60 40 paved dirt ratio, they say this year its more like 80 20
yeah up at about 11000 ft and beyond the corners have guard rails, none on the straights though.

I think they should leave a couple of dirt sections to honor the past when it was all dirt. That race is truly an American classic. Hope it runs forever!

yeah but its not just a race road. Its open all year to tourists, and they want to make it more accesible to motorcycles i bet, plus the upkeep on a dirt road that high in the sky, craaazy runnoff. you should see some of the water runoff features along that road. Oh another idea too, may be to be able to plow and open sooner in the year. Its not usually open to the top until right about now, sometimes june.

They can dump dirt on the paved road and use that
Carbureated HDs at 11,000 ft...that should be interesting
It would be cool if someone (or two) flew off the edge...real gladiators

Must be cold up there. Those are some serious winter coats they're wearing. Kind of cruel to be posting those pics when it's 100 degrees here in Texas!
And it will still be 100+ degrees for the next four months.

Yeah, read the article after my post. He said it was 22 degrees where they based and some rider mentioned ice on the road at the top. Ahhhh... sounds like a dream come true as I sit in my house with the AC hummin' and heat waves coming off my driveway.
Come on October!!!

Ummm...trailers?
Why don't they ride their "Multi Stradas" to the mountain?
Too much specialization these days

really? um, cause their race bikes. And they are sponsored by Ducati, They can ride in a warm car, and save gas for the training.

So they're not Multistradas at all, just race bikes that look like Multis....isn't that kinda like NASCAR?
