39F at 0700 - light rain in the forecast....

Anyone else see Max on Wind Tunnel last night?
Ever the accomodating guest, Max respectfully answered Dave's questions, including this one:

Despain: "Do you really hate Rossi?"
Max: "...Yes"

I'm guessing you're talking about Ralph Sheheen and Scott Russell?  I really hate that Speed has them do the US rounds of WSBK and MotoGP.  Soooo annoying.

The racing wasn't super fun to watch, but I was excited by it b/c of the outcome.  I was happy to see Carlos get the double, to see the Yammies running fairly and to see another boneheaded move from Biaggi.

I gotta tell ya, I'm amazed that Xaus still gets a ride each year.  And it's becoming pretty clear that Haslam and Rea chose the wrong manufacturers last year.  They shoulda done everything they could to get on a Yamaha, a Duc or an Aprilia.  And hey, Fabio, how's it feel, ya turd?

Checa eating shit in the mud between Race 1 and Race 2 was awesome.  He handled it as he shoulda -- sheepishly.  Despite the win, I bet his crew wanted to kick him in nads.  He had a perfectly good bike that he facked up for no reason and then they had to scramble to put it back to together.  And mud is a pregnant dog to get out of all the nooks and crannies.

Good weekend for Checa and not just cuz of the double.  If Max had been 2d in both races with Melandri close by, the double wouldn't mean much for Carlos.  But with Melandri's mediocre point haul and Biaggi's DNF, Carlos put some serious distance between himself and those two.

Yep, he lucked out by the misfortune of others. Still, good for him! waytogo The mud bath was pretty funny. But I'm sure his crew didn't see it that way. bang head

I'm kinda surprised about Xaus too.  He claimed to have dragged the engine case on the curbing, causing him to lowside.  I guess that's plausible, since the curbs are pretty high in the attitudes.

 laughingdp  It's like a Mad Lib --

he and the top 10 are total strangers.
he and the finishing line are total strangers.
he and sufficient traction are total strangers.

Checa said his mud excursion was "the happiest crash of my life"  And Rea said he got "Simoncelli'd" by Biaggi.  To which Biaggi called him "crazy."  I'm waiting for a truly righteous slap-fight to ensue.

Well it sounded like Checa was trying to get over to the fence to pick up a Ducati flag, but I'm assuming he forgot that the off areas are mud pits even if there is grass.    Tongue  Who cares though, I'm sure the second win of the day made up for all the cleaning that had to do.
