Thanks for sharing guys!  it's so scary right now. Tears start rolling down my face everytime I see him.  Not just because I'm excited but it kills me to see my son with all the equipment in place and the bruises and stick marks from the needles. He's kicking and screaming at the nurses though to tell them what he doesn't like. Little fighter he is turning out to be!

Both my brother and I were way early... he more so than I.  I was born at 3 lbs 6 oz, and he was 2 lbs 4 oz.  I had clubbed feet, and he had a smattering of dysfunctions, i.e. under developed lungs, needed open heart surgery at three days old, died a few times on the table... my poor parents.  They straightened my legs and he fought through everything.  Now, we're both fully functioning adults (I'm 25 and he's 28) without any medical issues.

Being a father myself now, it's amazing how resilient little ones are.  Everything will be fine.  Enjoy every second you have with little Maro, they grow up so quickly...

Dude, you're latin. That kid is supposed to have at least 10 last names. She didn't need to use it as a middle name.

Congratz brotha. Make sure to get enough sleep before the kid gets home.

Yay BabIz.

Maro will be fine. A little early start is no biggy. As I said before, both of my friends boys came early and both are working toward being giants.

Last year some lady questioned the mom as to why Rowan (the older of the two) had so few words 'at his age' The lady thought he was older than her child of 3.5. But no, Rowan was only 2.5 and already taller than her kid by an inch.

Goat..awesome you got to take her home so early!

Maro will be in NICU for 3-6 weeks.  Good in a way since we aren't moving for 2 more weeks.  I guess the plan of having a house and nursery in place isn't going to work like we totally expected.  Oh well..we'll make it anyway!   Smiley
The important thing is both mother and son are healthy and safe.  Just make sure you visit him often and bond with him while he is in the NICU.  Emma stayed in NICU for only 3 days since she was perfectly healthy.  There was nothing more they need to do for her so they sent her home.

Since last night, Maro has had 2 chest xrays. His gases (CO2 level) were a bit high. He may have aspirated on some blood when they ran a tube down his throat. hoping it isn't pneumonia. Mom and dad get to change his diapers, take temp and do other chores to help the nurses out every few hours.  Trying to be strong but I cry everytime he see him. I try not to do it in front of mom because I have to be the strong one right now. Its just very painful not being able to help and are him struggle and not be able to pick him up without 20 wires, tubes, etc running from every extremity.

On top of all this, our room is over top of a construction zone. Drilling into tyr concrete directly under our bed if make the beast with two backsing ridiculous! Starts at 8am through 6. Of course, were in the old wing. Supposedly, the othe wing is full.

aww iz! lots of good thoughts are being sent your way... my nephew was born 4 months premature. he weighed 2 lbs at birth. he had a lung disease & a heart murmur. he actually lost weight at one point & weighed 1lb 8 oz... he was in the hospital for over 3 months... but he survived. he's 29 now & 6'2 & completely healthy... it's scary because babies are so small & seem so fragile but it's really amazing how tough they truly are & love works miracles Smiley
