MotoGP is making DMG/AMA racing look pretty damn good. And that's coming from the chief #1 pisser, moaner and complainer of the DMG take over a couple of years ago. What does that say? laughingdp Again... when's the next WSBK race? Roll Eyes

Speaking of which, anyone see the top 5 guys from Daytona Sportbike on Saturday do synchronized stand-up wheelies down the entire straight on the cool down lap?  It was awesome, but I couldn't find a vid of it on youtube.   waytogo

Yeppers. Saw that on my Directv DVR recording. Pretty cool and a damn good race. I'll man up and say my pregnant doging and moaning about the DMG/AMA gig was wrong. Pissing and moaning way too early. They have (even though it's a bit neutered from the previous SBK and Sportbike/Formula Xtreme classes) produced some damn good racing. Granted it's not and never will be WSBK class stuff but the recent races have been damn good. Never thought I'd be saying that but glad that I can. Sweet to see the 848EVOs humping it in the Daytona Sportbike class. Nice also to see Pegram finding his way on the Bimmer. waytogo

it's qualifying PRACTICE... most, if not all, of these guys spend the session finalizing their race setups.

with a single "non-junk" lap spies put himself 4th on the grid with a podium finish in the race.

In this instance yes, but typically the guys that run consistant times during practice sessions tend to finish better in the races, and its not like Ben has been setting the world on fire this season ( bad luck or not ).  Most of the guys that typically pull one off laps and nothing else close to it during the practice sessions don't run particularly well in the races.  The Ben only had one decent lap for qualy and he's disappointed me this year with his performance in general, so I need to see the guy start running better before I expect him to sniff the podium.

Which woulda been extra weird considering Colin was watching the race from the Tech 3 garage.

that's what i get for watching the race after partying from 1p to 7a.

I was singularly unimpressed with a majority of the race that was broadcasted....the Capi,Abraham,Barbera mixing up was about the most interesting thing to watch....I wanted to see Dovi, Rossi and Spies come together for some mixing up in a similar fashion....

I haven't watched Moto2, so y'all STFU (kidding -- I know this is a spoiler thread).

Seriously, how bad ass is Edwards?  He had surgery on Sat and tried to start the race on Sunday, but the medics wouldn't let him!  Edwards' response was typical of him.   applause

Fortunately - for Spanish TV viewers at least - this moment was captured by a canny TV producer. As Edwards exited the circuit medical center, he first demonstrated that he still had some strength in his arm by performing the classic international symbol for "up yours". When asked by the reporter what the doctors had said, he replied "they told me I had the wrong name. I wasn't called Valentino Rossi." Insinuating cruelly - and probably correctly - that if Rossi had been in a similar situation, the doctors may have arrived at a different decision.

Motomatters goes on to insinuate that Twerpy McFragileBones is a pussy.   Cheesy  http://motomatters.com/analysis/2011/06/05/2011_catalunya_motogp_sunday_round_up_ha.html
