First up a big THANK YOU to the rest of the Usual Suspects for their patience with my emails over this past weekend.  Guys - you gave me lots of good advice, and lots of good thoughts there - I truly appreciate it.

I'm selling my Monster.  I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to as far as a new bike goes (SERIOUSLY Cool), but I have some solid ideas Cool

I may be out of commission for a bit, though.  This weekend gave me time to think through things a bit more.

More pressingly, I have a 10 year old Jeep that I NEED to sell.  However, I need to make some repairs to it first so it can pass NJ state inspection.  If I can sell the bike, take some cash to repair the Jeep then sell the Jeep, I'll be set to get a different bike.  It just may take a little time.

Given that my schedule keeps me from a US ride until July, I figured I'd pull the trigger now on all this, then I'll be good to go for the late summer and into the fall and winter.  Considering we Suspects tend to ride year round, I didn't think this was a big problem Grin.

Don't know about a step 3 but...

When it's time for you to start shopping for a bike, may I suggest buying used. At this point, I don't see a reason for buying new, it just doesn't make sense.

That being the case, may I also suggest you looking at the Wera forums for a used track bike. As long as it has a clean title in hand, it shouldn't cost too much more money to convert it back to street use (basically you just need lights). Cru, Pat, myself, Pak, Dizz, and Beattie have all had great luck shopping for a used bike. In fact, I know of an Aprilia RSV - Colin Edwards edition - that's for sale on the cheap. No further modding needed on your part. Ohlins forks/shock, brembo radial brakes, OZ wheels, and a reliable Rotax vtwin engine...

Good luck with the sale Tommy.

+1 to what GC said regarding WERA. If you're leaning that direction don't shy away from properly setup, clean titled track/race bikes.

Tommy:

If you are looking used. I know where there is a sweet Aprilia RSV for sale.

lol, you'd be hard pressed to top the monster in that regard.

Now if I'm not mistaken, I those little half lids are all about style. I just didn't realize dork was a style. laughingdp

OK - I have a buyer for my Jeep, and that'll likely happen in about 2 weeks.

I've decided to keep the Monster for the rest of this year and just suck it up on the highway.

Thanks for all the encouragement, thoughts and ideas.

Step 3 = Have a great summer!!!! Cool
