Well, gladius is Latin for sword, and Katana had been used already.

What's wrong with calling a bike Gladys?  I've named my bikes, though I never actually call them by name (it always seems wierd).

because, when i picture someone named gladys... this is the mental image that comes up >.<

and just overall, for a bike, the name gladius just sounds ugly to me... a short roman stabbing sword? meh

lots of other cool sword names could have been use... but for me, the biggest crime was killing off the sv name.  i mean, with the sheer popularity associated with that name, i was shocked they were willing to kill it off.  years of brand recognition gone basically...

BMW R1200CL. By a longshot

Notice any similarities?

Then there's the Jaguar bike, which looks, um, well, it looks like. . . . . . when you're 'riding' it.  It just looks like that cat's trying to leap away.  far far away. . .

it just looks like he is sodomizing a big cat.

why would you want a bike like that?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Saw this on eBay just now.  It's both ugly and stupid.  I give no points for originality.

I dig it as well.

This one however...

I think your first sentence is the answer to your second.

Ouch. Mojo S2R's bike. I don't think it belongs in this thread.

Not only that, but I really doubt that there's a Ferrari engine in there.

Is this the unwanted offspring that resulted from an affair between a Road King and a Diavel?
