HI guys,
So I'm in the market for a new monster and I have my eye on the EVO. My qustion is should can I get a better then MSRP on it or is there a snowballs chance that will ever happen? I live in Jersey. I was able to get a bit off when I bought my 696 new. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Brand new bike....I wouldn't hold your breath.
Call all of the nearby dealers and see what they have to say.

Your chances of scoring a deal are pretty slim, but it's always worth while trying. Try playing off the nearest 3 dealers against each other and see how bad they want to sell that bike. If that doesn't work then your best bet might be to wait until the end of the year and see if you can score a deal, sometimes they want to move bikes before year end to lower their inventory for tax purposes.

I'm in California, but I have tried to haggle down the price on a few new Ducatis with no luck until the next years bikes are sitting on the showroom floor. Of course always ask, different dealers play by different rules.

The most you can usually hope for is to talk them down on freight and set up. Some dealers pad these two charges an absurd amount. As far as talking them down on the bike itself? No real chance with a newly released model.

So 11995 it is then huh? My local dealer is charging 12495. That kind of gouging is just uncalled for.

Unless he can GET $12,495 for it, then it is the free market at work. Remember..........new model.

I'm pretty sure I can can them down to MSRP on it. This is my fourth bike from them, and they went lower then MSRP for me when they 696 was first introduced. I was just hoping for a little less then MSRP.

$12495?? Bargain. I'll take 2 . I'd love to have to put up with that kinda... gouging. Same bike (if you could even find an EVO at all) would cost you double in Australia. New 2010 M1100s are still going for around US$23,000 . So enjoy. You dont know how good you got it .

That it is. But then stopintime could probably tell us that he'd have to pay even more Up There in Norway. So, be glad and enjoy your bargain priced M1100EVO .

You dont know how good you got it . Absolutely. I was looking at the 848 EVO. US$ 12,995 in the US. US$ 23,625 in Japan and -9 HP for noise/emission regulations

I was just hoping for a little less then MSRP. Different story, you've given them lots of business, OTD price of course for at least a grand less or just wait. I personally will no longer buy a bike the year it is released after finding out how much more the dealer will work with you a year or more after.

Well I went out and bought it today. It was a crappy day here in Jersey and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get it home. Well not dry anyway. Luckily the weather held and I took the bike. I was able to get it at 12200. They worked with me a little bit because of the repeat business. The bike feels great. More power everywhere compared to the 696. And the clutch is a bit stiffer. So far i'm loving it.
