I work in transportation for a company that acts as the middle man between companies and LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers.  Currently in the IT department aiding in the design of a Transportation Management System to help in simplifying the transportation process.  It's fun, and helps pay the payments  [thumbsup]  Does me no good in the grave and life's to short to live debt free [moto]

CTO of a small software company in San Diego that recently sold to a medium size company in D.C. Niche software for utility companies (predictive maintainence)

Hey mbec257 I have visited Georgia Power a number of times over the past 12 years. I know it's a big outfit, but I have talked to a few GIS guys.

Very cool -- we are the last side of the business to switch to GIS. The rest of southern company is already there. And we in distribution (umm.. from the substations to your house) are the last hold outs. Transmission and our Land departments have had it for awhile...

DMAFB. I put some of the lights on these canopies years ago. Lately I do a lot of fire alarm, comm, and security stuff. The Air Force hires the best: Union.  Can't have lights falling down on bazillion dollar planes!
