ciao a tutti,

Please mark your calendar for Sunday October 9th, 2011, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and join fellow Ducatisti at 8865 La Honda Rd, La Honda, CA., for the 8th annual La Ducati Day.

La Ducati Day 2011 will offer attendees a full day of:
- Riders for Health Auction
- Ducati Vintage Club sponsored Concorso Ducati
- Motion Pro sponsored Ducati Garage Challenge and Slow Ride Competition
- Leo Vince USA sponsored Ducati Music Challenge
- Lindemann Engineering sponsored Sportbike Suspension Setup Clinic
- Vendor court, food, raffles and more

Free event admission. All proceeds from entry fees, sportbike suspension setup clinic and raffles will benefit the La Honda Fire Brigade. These are the good men and women that rescue us when we crash on that side of the mountain ... helping them helps all of us.

We hope you will make the ride up into La Honda, situated in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains, and help us rename the city La Ducati for the day of the event.

For additional information, please browse to: www.norcaldoc.com/ldd

ciao a presto,
johnc

Check out my new whip, yo!

Actually, I do have a bike, I have a loner from my buddy.  It's a 2005 Kawasaki 636.  Flush mount turn signals (left front doesn't work), missing one bar end, slip-on can, tank grip pads for traction when wearing shorts, purple glow lights for under the bike, rear tire, and around the engine, radar detector connection that was hooked up to the wiring harness with telephone cable (totally serious), and the front headlight goes intermittently turns off and turns back on when it feels like it.  All the wiring has been done with telephone cable or something along those line with a bit of electrical tape holding it all together.  It also leaks oil like a sieve.   Looks like it's been down do to unmatching levers, rearsets and one barend missing.  Total Squid bike, but I use it to commute once in awhile for he carpool access when I need it.

My buddy ins't a squid, but it sure looks like he bought it from one.  i rode it for about a week in a half, then the headlight problem came back.  Also, I just don't feel very safe on it, the turn signals being super tiny and flush mount makes me feel invisible in traffic. It also looks like the sprockets have been changed because it is running at really high RPM on the freeway, making me get horrible gas mileage for a bike (less than 30 mpg on the freeway.)

I'll probably show up to LDD in my Suburu  laughingdp

You never had a stuntman?  I never heard of it either until John came over and had one on my birthday, he also made me do it.  I didn't like it.
