I removed my stock windshield and noticed that my turn signals look terribly out of place, so I'd like to buy something smaller and more sleek.

Seems like everyone goes to LEDs, but what with the load box placement and the resistors, I'm drawn towards something simpler, like the below:

Does anyone have first hand experience using these?  The reviews on monsterparts.com seem to say they are very bright (as bright as LEDs).

I switched over to the barracudas after karate kicking my rear signal.  They are extremely bright and hard to ignore for anyone behind you.  Haven't seen too many led signals in person so I can't really compare the two but plan on sticking with the barracudas when i redo my front signals.  Easy install, just splice the new lights into your stock harness and you're good to go.

slvrflme147, how do they compare as far as size is concerned?  The OEM signals are pretty huge.

Pretty tiny.  I can take a measurement when I get home from work but I'd guess the entire thing protrudes maybe 2.5 to 3".  Overall much smaller than stock but vastly brighter.  I ordered the short stalk version from Jeff over at monsterparts.

EDIT* Just measured the signals and they protrude 2.75" from the mounting point, making them much smaller than the stock signal which was close to double the length.

Ill try snapping some pics next time I get the bike out of the garage.  Unfortunately all the pics I have are crappy cell phone pics right now that do not really show off the signals as they are pretty tucked away.

I was considering the Barricuda's but wasn't crazy  about the sharp look, almost too modern for my bike, more fitting on the newer style Monsters. So I just went with the oem style mini clear indicators from Monsterparts...

How bright are the "mini oval" lights you got from MonsterParts compared to stock?  I am leaning towards them now based on your styling point and the fact that monsterparts is out of the Barracudas right now.

Do you have any pics?

Ok, I couldn't find my real camera so cell phone pics will have to do

Turn signal on without brake light. Tried catching it at the brightest as it pulses a little but this light is bright enough to leave floaters if you stare right at it.

Signal with brake light on.  Definitely outshines the brake light.

Size vs. the stock signal.  This is the stock signal with no additional stalk on it so it is as small as it goes and still is significantly larger with poor light output.

I tired grabbing some pics of my front signals which are still stock but my HIDs washed the picture out terribly so no luck there.
The signals are pretty angular but since they are so small it does not clash too much with the newer monsters imo.

Thanks! Those look pretty nice. It looks like it will be much more difficult to karate kick them.

You would really have to try. Luckily they are rubber mounted so even if you manage to knock one they are pretty resilient.
