I just got back from church earlier today, and looked down at the odometer. At first, it seemed wierd, so I flipped through the menu thinking something else was being displayed... then it dawned on me. The 696 is exactly 1,000 miles old.

So, what have I learned during this time?

1. Cagers are dangerous, even to other cagers.
2. Never ride at 80mph with your face shield up or your zipper down.
3. Dropping your bike in the driveway is inevitable... get over it.
4. The really cute girl on the scooter going 25 is not purposely holding up traffic... so don't complain about being "stuck" behind her.
5. Cicadas pop when they hit your face shield at 60, thus impairing your view. Remember to carry a small rag or learn to ride with your head sideways.

We're not far behind you, but being it's the wife's bike and she's 4 months pregnant, I'm not sure how fast we're gonna catch up (unless I put more miles on it).

I take issue with #2 of your list, cause I don't like face shields (though I like having the one on my new AGV cause I can flip it down if I come across a swarm of bugs or I'm forced to ride behind a dump truck for any length of time).  chug

Note to self... pack toothpicks and facial hair comb in tank bag.

When I was a kid, 3/4 helmets were the rage. I still like the "wind in the face" feeling once in a while, so I got an EXO9000 that converts from a full face to a 3/4. But need a better set of prescription safety glasses before removing the chin guard.
