Hi all,

I just purchased a set of new vinyl ("80's style double-line 'DUCATI' letters) stickers to replace the stock logo on my '07 695....

I have no clue how to remove the stock letters without damaging the tank/paint... I can't seem to tell whether the OEM letters are on top or below the clear coat... the edge of the sticker is rather smooth to the tank surface, which leads me to believe its under the clear coat. Can anyone confirm what it really is? (mine has the red tank, if that matters over the alternative "Dark" matte version)

Secondly, when I remove the OEM stickers... will I have to reapply cleat coat to the tank again before I put my new vinyl stickers on?

I've seen many other bikes on here with the stock sticker removed in place for something different... unfortunately there are no DIY tutorials for this.

Thanks for your help!

All the tank decals on the later colored non-matte finish tanks are under the clear coat.

You're not getting those off easily.
