Rizoma race pegs
«

So I got these to go with my Rizoma rearsets. I love them. They are thicker, shorter and round perfect for my large feet and SDI boots.
Now my "friend" who's been riding longer then me took one look at them, notice they did not hinge up like OEM and told me they were a hazard because when going low around a turn if the started to rub on the ground they could catch as they wouldn't yeld upwards like stock. This seems somewhat logical but on the other hand normally your boots hit first as they stick out further. Opinions?

If you've got rearsets and you're dragging your pegs around corners then you have a big problem:
You're about to crash because you're leaned over too far.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Ha ya probably right... I've dragged a boot end but I have not scrapped/dragged a peg on this bike and these are shorter then oem. Thanks.
I wonder about a crash though they stick out as far as the speedymoto slider, might protect some stuff at the cost of the rear set. Hopefully I don't find out.

i think it would depend on the type of crash..if the fall onto it is gentle enough (from losing grip while already pretty low) the rearset may act as another slider and just grind down while protecting other parts of the bike and simply need a replacement peg.. but if it's a more significant drop, i would think that it would either snap or bend (possibly along with the entire rearset assembly) and maybe cause more damage to itself. my 2c from the few off-bike experiences I've had with numerous rearsets.
but basically.. you should be fine with the ones you have.

Too bad it wouldn't screw into the part that hinges.

I like those pegs. Where did you get them? Are they a drop-in replacement for stock?

Exactly what I thought when I read the first post. Though mine was more 'yeah if you've gone low enough to scrape those, you've already crashed"

I’ve got these as well. They are especially nice because of the extra grip they offer and more rigid feel. One thing you lose is the folding feature that the Rizoma rearsets come with.

Not sure if they work with oem rearsets, they are for the Rizoma rearsets. I had to go the a do-it center to get a bolt/screw that worked.
