Titanium Arrows S2R1000 quesitons

How loud is a set? ive never heard them. there is a set for sale that im about to buy, but the loudness is what really turns me away from them.
I have heard a set of Termis without dB killers on a GT1000 (full system) and a ducati 1098. its WAY to freaking loud. I wouldnt be able to tour on it because the noise would just give me headaches.
So for those who have them, how do they compare to open udder? or a full termi?
The Ti Arrows that are rebadged by Fast By Ferrachi apparently dont have provisions for dB killers which i want.

They are pretty loud. I love the way Arrow's thump. They just have a good smooth bass to them.
These are two pretty good videos of the sound.

not to thread crap that seller's thread but i had the same concerns which is why i did not get them. i have an 800 but was going to use his mufflers only (in conjunction with my marving) but i like to go for nice long rides and can't see myself putting up with the noise level...

I have a set of SilMoto' Titanium and they sound pretty good. I do run with the DB killers cuz I leave the house at 5:00am and don't want to piss off the neighbors. They have more bass than I expected, but not nearly the same as Carbon Fiber. The thing I do like about the Titanium is that they run super cool. 45min ride and I can grab the pipe bare handed and barely feel the heat. Definitely quieter then open udder.

hows it sound without the dB killer? I am running open udder because one of the exhaust clamps broke and the exhaust is shaking everywhere so i took it off, now would be a good time to get a new exhaust.
I saw a termi slip on 800 ride by my work the other day and noticed his bike was much quieter than mine.. he had no baffles either. i think its the full system that ends up making hte thing loud as make the beast with two backs.

I ran mine with just udder, and it was
way
too loud. then when my exhaust came in, I ran with DB killers removed, still too loud for small town mornings. Now, I'm half deaf so to me loud is loud. With the way the Sil's are, I can slip the killer in and out while the bike is idling and I can hear the high/low. I did pull up to a Harley the other day and my bike was actually louder than his and he did have aftermarket exhaust. I have a Marving mid-pipe, and I did run it once with just that, and it would not have been long before some called the cops. That was freakin loud. But cool. Down side to Sil's is that they do not come with heal guards. I just bought one from Motowheels, $75. I now think maybe I should have bought 2. ($150 for guards) I must be out of my mind.

i wear ear plugs with the nazi police giving safety inspections when they stop you.
my main concern is comfort. Can I tour with open udder? absolutely not. even if you paid for hte whole trip i wouldnt do it, earplugs or not. the noise comes right next to your leg and its loud as make the beast with two backs.
with pipes that point the noise to the back , i might consider it, but i really want to get an opinoin from someone who has the arrow titanium full system and could give me some good feedback.
Seller says the ti cans have NO provisions for dB killers so id have ot get fancy making some, and then figuring a way to get it to fit (which i find it odd because the Arrow branded ones do have them, and the FBF rebadaged ones dont?)

My dad has the Ti full system on his s2r1k. I'll see if I can get him on here.
I ride with him every weekend and they are by no means really loud.
Hell, compared to my system they are almost quiet haha. Riding behind him It's hard to hear his bike at all over my exhaust and wind noise.
As far as the sound goes, it is not piercing but deep and thumping. I don't know what state you are in but here in PA there has never been an issue with the fuzz and his exhaust volume.

does he run dB killers?
and can anyone confirm that the FBF titanium cans have no provisions for dB killers? i found pics of arrow titanium cans, and the dB killers are installed with a snap ring.

Just had a quick conversation with him.
He has the Ti full system and it DOES have provisions for the dB killers (baffles) via snap ring. He ran both and decided he like it more with them in (but does remove when feeling like a hooligan).
Here's the catch. He found a drill bit that matched the size of the holes in the baffle and added around 8 more holes to the sides of each baffle to increase flow and volume.
So he is currently baffled (lol) but has modified them to be louder than stock.
Also gave a
in terms of build and sound quality. I'll be first to admit that his tone is much deeper than mine and the bass can be felt in your chest when idling.
Awesome pipes..

thanks veloce!!
may i ask, is the bass so deep as to be annoying when riding? Bass penetrates much deeper and earplugs usually cant get rid of that noise.
now the Ti cans have provisions, and it leads to me ask why would Fast by Ferrachi remove them (or the seller doenst know that it goes in via snap rings)
I found a place online that sells the dB killers for $49 bucks+shipping in all of arrows various sizes, but i think 45mm is the size i need.
http://www.motobuys.com/11002db.html
so with that said im going to pick up those cans and hopefully there will be a space for the snap ring.

I can weigh in on the CF front. Difference between open udder and non-baffled is very little. Way way way too loud.
The CF do not have ability to take baffles - after doing a ton of research my understanding is that all Ti do. You can however buy new end caps from Arrow for any exhaust that will allow them to accept baffles. My used set came with the 'baffle accepting' end caps uninstalled. Was very easy drill out and re-rivet exercise to allow them to accept baffles.
With baffles the sound IMO is great. I commute most days as well. The exhaust is loud, don't get me wrong, but at idle the open clutch is probably more noticeable.
Bass is great with ear plugs. I ride 100% with ear plugs in part b/c i may have damaged my ears riding a few hundred miles unbaffled (have tinnitis in my left ear now).
I have an email for Arrow that they have been responsive too and directions for replacing end caps. PM me if you would like it.
Good luck.
Tim
A few weekends ago i rode with a GT1000 with Zards, a bike with Termis baffled, Termis unbaffled and my bike baffled.
Zards sound awesome and may have the edge on the bassiness, but my Arrows are a close second with baffles.

I never rode his bike without the modified baffles, but the way it is now with installed drilled baffles, earplugs would not be necessary. The bass tone is pleasant and not pounding at all. Unbaffled it is a fairly powerful thump. Still not as loud as my H-comp setup though.
His set came with the baffles included and installed, so unless yours is secondhand or that FBF kit you shouldn't need to buy them. I'm willing FBF slpit the parts to sell them separately and make more $$.. Buy direct from arrow or a distributor.
I
think
he bought his from cacycle?

no idea, but im down to buy them, i sent him an email last night telling him ill take them off his hands ,but hes out of town so im on standby until he gets back. may be several days maybe a week.
he doesnt have baffles, must of got them second hand and id be the 3rd guy. but the baffles are cheap enough AT $50.
If you guys are saying that baffled, you dont need earplugs, then ill take your word for it. I wear ear plugs with stock exhuast lol

update: apprently the endcaps on the Ti FBF set are stamped FBF on them and do not have the snap ring groove for the baffles. Which means any baffles i buy wouldnt fit. I tried looking for endcaps, but i was only able to find some overseas one that cost a ton of money.
any suggestions? Perhaps welding the baffles on the end caps (though removal would be a make the beast with two backsing PITA) If i had a TIG machine, id have half a mind to build up a weld puddle for a snap ring to snap into place.
After everythings said and done, im looking at a pretty high cost. just shy of $1000 for the full arrow system.
id LOVE boomtubes but AFAIK, they are WAY to loud, even baffled.
