kickstand on 2000 M900
«

I recently purchased a 2000 Monster 900Sie. Love the bike. The front end is a bit squirrelly and I need to get that figured out. I think it is just a matter of resetting the suspension to stock settings and playing from there.
Anyway, I am posting because the bike came with a center stand. While I like it for working on the bike and the stability, I am not really a fan of the day to day use. Does anyone know where I can find a used kickstand? Why does everyone dislike the kickstand so much?
Thanks!
Josh

So to be clear here, what you're saying is that the previous owner installed a center stand and then
removed
the kickstand?
I'd scour eBay, Craigslist, and post up in the 'parts wanted' section of the forum.

You are correct. Will any kickstand from a Monster fit, or must I find a 2000-2001 Monster?

I believe any 1995-2001 should fit.

Same here, although I never use the kickstand because it doesn't seem at all secure. I've tried multiple (5+) different kickstands including two different cycle cat stands, and none of them provide enough triangulation to keep the bike securely upright. IMHO I would keep the centerstand and not worry about finding a kickstand.

My M900 fell over without assistance exactly zero times, using the stock kickstand. All while living in windy Kansas.

Did you raise the suspension? (mine is raised)

Mine is raised a bit, would that make much of a difference?
