Name that shock!

Came across these pics on the ducati.ms board. I would like to replace the rear shock on my '99 SevenFEETY at some point and the pic got me thinking..............
Anyone know what model Ohlins this is? I thought the DU440 with the
REMOTE
reservoir was the only ohlins shock with reservoir made for the hoop-style monsters.

It is, why wouldn't you think that's a DU440?
That's how they came fitted to the 2000 900S. There's a plate that attaches to the frame that cradles the remote, it's not a fix res like you might see one the SBKs - it is on a hose.

That is where I put the reservoir on my bike, also where Ducati put it on the 2000s versions.

Hmmm, ok.
Didn't know the DU440 came with provisions for close attachment. It looked fixed to me.
Thanks!!

I don't think they come with it - if you bought it from Ohlins. They do have frame mounts from Ohlins. The bracket is a Ducati part

- Page 72, item 15 on the diagram, PN 82912501A - $24 for the mount and then there's a couple clamps and bolts as well.

Sad Panda is correct. Mine is on with the rubbers that came with the kit and a couple of thin hose clamps. The OEM Ohlins also has a shorter hose.

+1. The 2000 "S" model had a nice mount location, those parts aren't available anymore though. (not like the bands are hard to find but the plate and such to make it "as the factory built it" aren't available to make your non-2000 model similarly kitted.)
Its also plainly a 2000-
S
due to the OEM floating/braced rear caliper setup, which wasn't on earlier-S or any non-S models.

I posted this in another thread. After a low speed gravity storm forced my knee and my reservoir to become intimate, I sent my shock back to Ohlins to have them shorten my hose and position the banjo fitting in the correct orientation and mounted my reservoir to the bracket that formerly held my emissions canister. (I have no idea what happened to the canister..it must have fallen off on a rough road somewhere.)
My suggestion for anyone that wants to do this who doesn't have the bracket is to scour the junkyards until you find a bike that has one. It mounts on two lugs just in front of the hoop. I'm not sure which years had their canisters mounted there. Mine is a '99 900.

Yeah, it was linked in a current thread and some Pam's for me, so I thought I'd put it here where the thread title matched the subject.
