I'm definitely keen for my inaugural DMF ride  Grin

The bikes going to be in pieces for a week or two while I tackle to 20,000k service (well the bits I'm game to do...). But if it's ridable and I'm free when your planning to head out I'l be there with bells on!

Meet at Fernvale servo 0900 and see how we go?

Something like this:

Will you be organising one after xmas? If so I will be in for one then. This weekend I have no hope of coming. The monster needs the clutch pack replaced. Have my Monsterparts 48t EVR set ready to install.

What an awesome day. Took the eastern side (split yard creek) to Somerset through Kilcoy on the back road to the Melany turn off. Lunch in Melany then on to Kenilworth, down to Nambour and back via Beerwah, Kilcoy, Esk then home. 400km on a Sunday  Smiley

Sorry no pics on that ride  Grin

When for a spin to North Stradbroke Island yesterday, what a blast. Air temp 28 and surf 24. Swimming at Cylinder beach & Brown Lake, lunch at Amity -  couldn't have asked for a better day  Smiley

Bigger all traffic but the pub was chokers.

Also ferries are cool especially when you ride a bike on and off.

Took the S4R up the Mount Crosby, Fernvale, Glorious, Nebo, Bardon, Chapel Hill circuit yesterday. Despite the heavily overcast conditions and poor weather forecast, it was awesome. Riding up from clear roads to misty mountain tops was great fun. It was looking like rain the whole time but only drizzled for a couple of minutes.

I'm not a fan of the idea of rain but must confess, once out in it, it is fun.

Funny how things always look brighter from inside a helmet.

Also gave me a good excuse to spend a couple of hours detailing the bike, which then lead to bleeding all brakes and clutch and replacing some nuts and bolts with stainless ones and then painting some tiny bits and pieces that no one but me will ever notice.

Gotta love the monster inside (and the one in the garage).

Thought I'd add one to this thread. Took the 900 for a decent run today, I don't get out too much on it unfortunately. Almost 12 months of owning it and under 4000kms. Never-the-less today I added about 230 with a ride starting from home (duh) which is out in Cleveland, did the Chapel Hill run and got caught behind one of those dog-truck things halfway through. Why is it those bloody things pop out of everywhere!

From there it was out to Brookfield, Anstead and down to the Moggill Ferry. Now this thread would be useless without pics so:

Moggill Ferry

Looking up the Brisbane River towards Mt Crosby

And Mt Crosby was where I was headed, however instead of turning and going over Colleges Crossing I turned the opposite way and headed to Lake Manchester. A little bit of dirt road up there but other than one car which I followed for about a kay it was all to myself.

Once back onto the Warrego I made my way west/ turned off and headed through Fernvale, and towards Mt Glorious. Before I reached there I stopped at Splityard Creek Dam for another round of pics.

Wivenhoe Dam Wall in the distance

I should also mention I am using a brand new camera today so not all the shots were perfect. Its only a pocket sized Canon thing that was on special. It does however take 1080 video, I tried to get some video of me doing some ride bys but got interupted when I did.

Anyway on the road again, turned off for Mt Glorious and one more stop before I headed up the steep bit.

This is one of my favourites, the photo came out nice and clear

A couple of silly attempts to be artistic

Yep was nice sunny weather today! I was worried it would rain as you see, every time I get a day off work (which isnt very often) it rains. Lucky for me it didn't.

Back on the road and headed up the hill, unfortunately got stuck behind a doushbag in a mercededs tray back thing halfway up, he was going as fast as he could and I wasnt game enough to try and overtake this looney. There was another bike with me at this stage and he wasnt game enough either. Actually story of the day, great roads and weather spoiled by average drivers. Anyway, I had to stop one more time to get some distance from some traffic so I headed up the Camp Mountain lookout.

The town of Samford is in this shot, and the glasshouse mountains are in the distance.

Last photo taken at Camp Mtn

Now remember what I said about trying to get distance from traffic, not more then 2 minutes after resuming the run down Mt Nebo I was stuck behind more cars! Despite the traffic it was still a good ride today. 230kms and the fuel light hasnt come on yet so the 900 is getting some good economy.

Whew thats a bit long winded, enjoy the pics.
