IMO, a crash like that should be almost completely avoidable if you're not racing your bike on the roads.

Anyway, it could have saved the tank, maybe left foot controls and some rear plastic parts. If it was on the other side, maybe most of the exhaust.

There are so many different types of crashes in so many types of surroundings, so there's no way to tell if they would save anything or everything.
