I found two copies of Le Mans at a local video store last year and bought both. Kept one and gave the other to a life long friend whose a racing gear head for a b-day present. He make the beast with two backsing loved it. Neither of us had seen it in years. The really cool thing about the movie is my step son (at the time 13 year old) got on a huge Steve McQueen movie binge. Magnificent Seven, Bullitt, The Great Escape, Sand Pebbles (also a 1966 flick), etc. And when he found out I had another McQueen movie he went nuts! I can't tell you how many times we have watched Le Mans together. Bores the shit out of my wife and she leaves the room pronto to read a book or watch TV in the bedroom. Guy night!!!
Love those Gulf Porsches!!!
What's really cool about Le Mans is that no one in Hollyweird would help McQueen make it so he just said make the beast with two backs it, I'll do it myself! And what a job he did!! Great racing footage. Yeah, a little slow moving but what McQueen movie isn't? If you haven't seen it check it out.
