I read on Monsterparts that these handgrips are shorter than stock. What does that translate to in terms of installing these?

they fit.  What the 'shorter' means is they won't reach all the way to the end of the bars, so you will have a small gap between the end of the grip and the end of the bar.

You can either cut the bars or grind off the locating pin on the controls and move everything outboard to fill the gap.

I heard that they're not too comfortable. I almost always ride with gloves do you think I'd notice the difference?

I have the rizomas on my 620.  They don't reach the end of the bars.  I am waiting to decide on my final mirror/bar end set up before i saw bits off my bars.

I find them to be a bit more comfortable than the stock grips because they are a bit larger in overall diameter.  I don't have huge hands or anything, but the larger size just feels better.

I like 'em.
