"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

  • forks were bent, I sat on the bike and faced the fron tire straight but handle bars were veering left (could have been bent handle bars too, I'm no expert)
  • fork stoppers (where the forks meet the frame) were craked
  • frame 8" from the front had a dent on the bottom that lifted frame a bit and gave it a curve upwards on the right side

^^^ From that I'd say the frame is done.

So what's left is brakes, swing arm, rear wheel, maybe the front wheel, brakes, repairable gas tank, seat, engine with minor damage and lots of small parts.

-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

But he doesn't have the title on hand yet...that's kinda scary, riding away with no title and he has my cash?! Hmmm...

Would that make a good donor bike if I had a frame already and maybe just transfer all good parts? I wanted to get a hold of that 800 engine and just tweak the shit out of it and get as much power out of it as possible.  ;D but in the end I'll prolly be spending as much money as if I was to get a stock 8-9-1100 Monster no? ;D

It's not that big of a deal.  You just need to establish that he's the legal owner with his registration and run a check with the dmv ($12) online, and have a good bill of sale -- and get it notarized.

If you want a sample bill of sale for a bike you can fill in, pm your email address.  I wrote it up for my use and it's been very helpful for me (and I'm an attorney so I write well.. :-))
