I could see nissan putting the 4cyl into this:

it would make a great delivery vehicle.  Ugly as sin though.

i have the old model colorado which is very similar to the isuzu dmax , holding a 3litre diesel common rail with a variable vane turbo

using it for my daily work

fully loaded its weighing in at 2750kg

i just did a trip away and returned 8L/100k on the way home

which speaking of fuel costs

diesel was $1.45 a litre
91+10%ethanol was $1.45
95 $1.51
98 $1.57

a few pics

i hate you.  the isuzu diesels are awesome.

we MAY be getting some new oil burners next year:

http://www.thedieseldriver.com/2012/05/preview-2013-diesel-car-lineup-in-the-u-s/

but no small trucks..

2012 Ford Ranger

Ford will not sell the crew-cab ranger in the USA because it would shut down their Sport-Trac sales.  Sport Trac is a Ford Explorer with a short bed.  Basically a worthless pos unless you are just hauling home stuff from IKEA. They don't want to close down the line making Explorers.

The Durateq or whatever engine they have in Europe for the diesels is boss.

I thought they killed the Sport Trac when the Explorer was redesigned for '12?

And the new global Ranger is closer in size to the F-150, so their thinking was that they'd just get those customers into an entry level F-150 instead of the Ranger.

yep, i just looked again and the sport trac is gone.

The global ranger is 210 inches long, US ranger is 190 inches and the F150 is 231 inches OAL, so I think you have a point about that.

How about this.

http://www.cumminsdieselspecs.com/67.html

"In February 2011, Chrysler announced a 150 lb-ft increase in the 6.7L Cummins torque, bringing total output to 800 lb-ft. Horsepower remains a peak 350 hp despite the torque increase. "
