A bunch of makers are coming out with diesel cars and CUVs.. Mazda, Chevy, Cadillac..

but no small trucks... :-/

The Chevy Cruze in diesel sounds interesting.

1996 extended cab longbed.
7.3 powerstroke
5 Speed manual
2x4
243k on the odo
Recent tires(10k), new shocks, new water pump, broken A/C.
About 16mpg is what I get, but I commute up a mountain.

Basically this:

I would GLADLY have a similar (or more) power producing diesel in my Dakota rather than the 4.7 V8 it has.  It's a good motor, but would take two diesels to equal its fuel consumption!
