I know, this isn't a "small diesel truck"... but those following this thread may be interested anyway.  Wonder if it's still gonna run an LML motor (same as 2011-2014), or if they've been able to do anything to help mileage.  Power and torque figures are unchanged.

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2013/09/2015-chevrolet-silverado-hd-unveiled-at-state-fair-of-texas.html

Supposedly a guy named Nick at duramaxtuner.com has been able to squeeze more power and fuel efficiency out of the LML trucks, WITH all the emissions controls in place, with the same or less frequent regens.  It's all in the mapping.  As much as the OEMs like to claim they do everything they can for fuel economy and power, the reality is they put their development teams on tight deadlines and budgets, and the engine guys at the OEMs don't have the time they need to really maximize the mapping potential of the vehicle (then get it through all the EPA and DOT testing and certification that has to happen).

I like the appearance of the new ones a bit better than mine... but honestly, not enough difference to warrant the cost.  There is at least 200,000 miles of life in mine, and I plan on driving it 'til it is not economically repairable.

I love the new GMCs but not the Chevys( It's a headlight thing...). Though they are very very large trucks, GM got some decent fuel economy out the V6(18/24MPG) which is good as the I4 in my taco with gobs more power and torque. They V8 is no slouch either with 16/23MPG. This is why we don't have small trucks, the big ones can hold their own without giving up anything you expect from a truck. Don't forget these are Push rod cam in block engines, I wish i waited.....oh wells....

A certain improvement JohnEE.  I had a 2011 Z71 and got 15 on a good day in town without a heavy foot.  I do hate the variable cylinder shut-off though especially with aftermarket exhaust.  My F250 averages 16-17 in town and 20-21 on the highway, paid a little more but most mid-sized trucks these days are the same price as full sized.

I saw this VW at the 2013 IAA in Frankfurt. It sports a 2.0 TDI as a 4X4 with double cab:

The 47K Euro price tag wouldn't fly in the US. You might as well go all out
and get this 6X6 by Mercedes  Grin

the VW Amarok has a 2.0TDI with 140hp and a biturbo tdi with 160 and gobbles of torque . . . the price is for the "full extras" version . . . here in Panama it doesn't even get so hight . . .

the Chevy, yes, please, just no graphics . . .

If you are talking about the Mercedes, it is not a concept and sold by a German tuner.
