Why I can't get my dream bike 996S

I've dreamt of owning a 996s, it's my unicorn. But I can't get one now and it's not so much the money as I have no where safe to keep it. I keep my 620 on the street and this morning I woke up to this (again!):
Broken kickstand, bent handle bar, bent clutch, broken light switch and horn, broken signal lights front and back, yet another tank dent, cracked front fender, torn cover. That looks like most of it but I wasn't in the state of mind to turn it on and give it a closer look.

it looks rainy, sure it wasn't a gust of wind... NOT that it makes it any better.  [bang]

you need to build a secret entrace/parking spot in your building somehow. ala batman

I'd think that was a possibility if it'd gone over in the other direction.

eh, was going off my bike. I know with a sail, it would go over on the kickstand

sigh... that blows man.
seriously, that's like one of the saddest, most depressing photos i've ever seen.
looks like that was a pretty shit-tacular day in general.

At first sight I thought that was a possibility. When I took off the cover and saw the damage I ruled out the wind. The bars are really bent, they are bent down and up against the tank. And the kick stand looks like a boomerang and can't hold up the bike any longer. Plus with the rest of the damage it looks like she went down hard. I'm sure it was a car, most likely a truck, making a right turn into my street that went wide and ran into her. I park there because it's outside my window and with the hydrant there is no room for moronic NYC bumper parkers. Oh well not the first time and I'm sure it's not the last time, having a bike in NYC is tough.

That's BS... and sad. Sorry. Kind of the mechanical version of finding your dog or cat dead on the street outside of your house. :P Remind me not to live in NYC. I live in Dallas with a garage and I have a 996S. ;D Move.
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

never ever park your bike on the corner of any street unless you have no choice. i rather park between 2 cars that will tap my bike than park it on a corner.

sorry dude, ive been there. i own a Monster in NYC, its been down many many times. And ive added special touches to make it able to last in the city, but at the end of the day she sleeps in a garage.

There's a Rick Perry vs 996s ownership joke in there somewhere

A garage in my "hood" runs about $250 a month for a bike (double for a car), that'll finance another bike. I'm keeping her on the sidewalk from now on.
