I purchased the Ducati Short Tail guard kit for my '11 696. The install went great...however the holes in my SC license plate do not line up with the holes in the plate holder. It fit on the factory plate holder perfectly. Am I missing something??

If by short tail guard you mean fender eliminator, we would probably have to know who manufactures it. I know the Rizoma one has both a USA plate bracket and a EU plate bracket included. Maybe you're trying to fit the plate to the European bracket?

Sadly the DP short tail kit is intended for euro plates. You will need to either drill out the holes in the tail or your plate.

You can probably find a euro to U.S. plate adapter or something along those lines. Or you can drill some holes. I would reccomend making your own adapter from some small L or similar brackets that can be found at your local hardware store. Where in SC are you? I'm in Charleston. PM me and maybe we could get together and ride sometime. Hope you get it figured out. Later!

Try using the little plate (it appears to have reflectors on it in the parts guide) that came from OEM assembly as an adapter.
