Seem like a solid product and super easy way to put clip-ons on the 696.

I think it's a very clever idea, but maybe it will look better if the original top riple is painted black...

I think it's a pretty cool idea. I don't like how low clip ons force me to hang over the tank. That would be a good compromise. But at the same time it is a bit tacky.

its not a good compromise, imo - take a cue from dirtbike & h-d worlds and just get different angled bars. Rizoma bars have less rise, other bars have more. There's clubmans and such out there, check out the ones Raux posted. This is an incredibly bulky and expensive way of doing the same thing.
clipons are low and put you low for a reason - lower center of gravity, more weight on the front wheel, and better control when riding [hard] around curves.
the intermediate setups aren't really getting the big advantages from clipons traditionally sought when putting them on a Monster - more weight over the front wheel for better riding. clipons above the triples or with lots of rise, like the SM tall boys and others really only benefit the user by splitting the bars into two different sections in case you have an off.

also it sucks as compared to clipons because you can't change the angle (sweep) of the bars, only the height (by purchasing different riser pieces to bolt on to it). with traditional clipons, you can swivel the clipon riser clamps around the fork tubes to get them closer or further from the tank - whether you want the bars "straight like a single piece of bar" or "angled like a boomerang"

Dont forget aside from the functional component, clip-ons look bad ass!

Yeah, those Woodcraft things are an abomination! I saw them on their site and couldn't believe they actually produced them. The Suburban Machinery bars that Raux posted are definitely the best compromise. Below is a link to their site.

I'd pick up a set of those Suburban Machinerys in Lieu of Clip-Ons with risers. My standard question is ... does it come in black?

Thanks for the opinions guys. I see what you are talking about now. At first glance I actually thought it made the whole triple look matte black which would be hotness with my dark, but it is elevated and awkward. Time to research real clip-ons now...
