What do people usually do with their wedding rings after they get divorced?  Do I keep it?  Do I sell it?  Do I melt it down, and turn it in to a bullet?  I don't really care what happens to mine, but my ex just posted online wanting advice on where to sell/pawn her rings and it made me wonder what most people do with their old rings?

Sell it.  You don't need extra reminders around.

well if ex's are amicable, find a young couple that is down on the cash flow and help them out.

I'd be afraid of jinxing them...  That and not too many guys have a size 7 ring finger...

I kept mine. I figured I paid for it, screw it I'll keep it. It's in a drawer somewhere. It might take me days to even find it. But I damn sure didn't keep it for sentimental reasons! I do like the idea of the bullet. waytogo But I'd be worried of what I might do with it! laughingdp Evil If mine had cost as much as hers I would for sure cash it in! chug

Sold mine for the weight of the metal.
Got about 10% back from what I originally paid for it 14 years earlier.
+1 for the bullet idea though

Plenty of options
- Sell it outright
- Consign it (mostly the same as above)
- Find someone in need and give it away (that removes the jinx you know)
- Pitch it off a bridge while riding your bike over it.
- Save it for metal for a future bauble.
- melt it into something new now.

I should add that I actually donated mine to charity but it was not worth a lot and I didn't need the cash.

For some stupid reason, I still have mine.  Probably worth very little and I definitely wouldn't want to jinx some guy with mine.  Out of sight, out of mind.  Will likely dispose of it before I get hitched again.

Same here. Now that I'm reminded of it, I might try to incorporate the thing into some kind of smithing/sculpture project... The biggest problem is that it's far enough in the past that I don't think I could summon up the requisite artistic angst to do justice to a used wedding ring in art.  Grin

How cursed is the ring? If it's serious, high-grade shit, might I suggest gifting it to the Taliban?  Grin

I can't believe I'm not the only one who had this flash in their mind.  laughingdp

Or maybe not.

Huh?
Really??!?
If it's jinxed, I would think the *last* thing you'd want to turn it into is a cockring...
