New Rider - Took her out on the highway - Feeling of Floating ?!?

I've got 6040 miles on them. That, so far is twice what I got with Corsa 111's. The tire guy said that by running 40 in the rear I'd  use the edges more in turns since I don't really do alot of leaning during my normal riding back and forth to work. If/when I go out for a day ride I usually drop the pressure back to 38. I will say bumps feel a bit sharper with forty lbs.
