Sounds great on the decision but please please please do not do that 99% club that is like...

"OMG There are no jobs out there...and feel pity on me" Actually there are no jobs they want to work or wages they will work for.

Please be a maker and not a taker...I am in a job that is overworked (military) , overstressed, and yet I am still happy to a degree lol. My ducati is my relief...

Good luck on the job search and please do not become a part of the 99%...if you do not know what I am talking about google We are the 99%...

Thanks again everybody. Turns out I'm not getting to ride as much as I hoped. Funny how the wife can find things needing doing. In the mean time I've already been offered some work from former colleagues on Facebook and meeting with a couple of recruiters this week.

If all goes well I'll make a day drive to Chattanooga and get some pic of the riding up there.

+1 funny how it takes so many people a year to find a job when the unemployment checks are being cashed.

I was in the navy for 5 years and understand. During my last summer I bought an XS800 and rode it all over new England during the weekend for the stress relief. Best thing I did in the military.

My family visited Chattanooga from Atlanta earlier this summer.  The drive up there (via 75) was pretty boring.  What route are you taking?  It would be good to know for future reference.  Also, I visited Lynchburg, TN (Jack Daniels distillery) and drove thru the backroads.  One of the most beautiful drove.  I would do that on a motorcycle in a heart beat (if I have the time).  Something for you to consider.  Smiley

I was actually going to do I-75 to make good time and run up one side of Lookout Mountain then down the other. It's a fun ride all the same.

I would head up to T.W.O. and spend a few days just riding around up there. That ride up 75 sucks.

I now know how bad that ride up I-75 sucks. I was stiff as a board on that ride. I've been to TWO back in the day with I had my Bandit. Loved riding all through there and up to Murphy, NC to head back to Chattanooga. Now I have a wife and family so those taking off for the day to ride aren't as easy to do.

So I did ride I-75 up to Chattanooga and it sucked. While I was up there I did do a quick up and over of Lookout Mountain. Took a couple of pix. I'm not as eager to dive into the corners as I used to be. Probably get more confident with some more riding in the twisites.

Told ya so. Lookout Mountain is nice. I preferred to go up those ways during the week. Less squids and the locals are not as unhappy to see riders.

Looks like they've closed their doors.

We regret to inform you that Two Wheels Only has ceased resort operations as of March 22nd 2011

Unfortunately the inheritors of the property that Two Wheels Only sits on refused to renegotiate the ground lease, sell us the parcel of land that the resort is on. or do a month to month rent until they sold their property.

I spent my share of time at TWO with the local Duc club. We would always stop there for lunch.
