Beancounter and I are heading out this Saturday for a long ride and wanted to open it up to others. Here's the detail for the ride:
You: full gear w/ insurance, registration, and inspection tags
Kickstand up: Saturday 7am from 363 9th ave (look for a set of large red metal garage doors on the south side of the street between 1at and 2nd Ave. No need to fill up before hand. We'll check ranges that morning and figure out a place where everyone can tank up
Ride: 322 miles planned so far to the DE Water Gap. Aspirational ETA back into the city at ~5pm-ish. We will be slabbing it the first ~70 miles (I-280 to I-80 to Stroudsburg exit fro Hwy 191). Then we are meandering north/south, back and forth checking out some new (to me) roads in search of twisties while generally heading East back towards the city.
Pace: Nothing blistering. I'm a big believer of "The Pace," but we will likely be moving at a good clip (75-80 mph) on the slab since I hate the interstate.
Disclaimer&Requirement: Since I've never ridden these roads, I cannot guarantee road conditions. It could be great, it could be boring, it could be gravel so this is not a 101 ride. You need to be comfortable on your bike through varying conditions. From GC's descriptions, there are likely a combination of backroads and maybe even gravel. I'm not a fan of gravel and don't purposely seek it out, but if we find ourselves on it , you need to be able to handle your machine. There's a chance of thunderstorm so we may get rained on.
