About 11 years ago I was in the shower when my 2 year-old came in and said, "Dad, your Pop-Tart is hot."

"That's nice," I said, and continued showering.

He came back in mere seconds later and repeated "Your Pop-Tart is hot!"

"Thanks," I said. "I'll be there in a minute."

"Dad, it's real hot. You should go now."

So, drippy and cranky, especially since I don't even eat Pop-Tarts and didn't know why mine was hot, I huffed out to the kitchen.

There sat the toaster, with flames literally shooting out of it. They were, I kid you not, feet high. They were curling up around the cabinets. There was even a menacing roaring sound much like a blowtorch.

I stood there with my mouth agape for a moment, then threw my towel over the toaster, grabbed it and threw it out in the snow. Then I waved at the neighbor who had stopped to stare at this (I still feel apologetic to that poor lady) and went back to shower off the smoke smell.

For those who wonder: yes, it was a strawberry Pop-Tart. Perhaps the special setting on that toaster is for "blowtorch."

OK...so maybe I live in a cave.

Maybe the advancements in toaster technology have blew past me at supersonic speeds.

I was in the kitchen at work this morning grabbing myself a latte (we roll like that)...and i happen to glance at the toaster.

The thing has a specific setting for Pop Tarts!!! And it is even the Pop Tarts logo!!!!

This is the greatest thing since....well since Pop Tarts!

I've had a toaster with a Pop Tart setting for about 7 years now. Yeah, I bought it just because of the pop tart setting.  ;D

It's junk!

Never did get my pop tarts warm enough!

I solve my problems like an adult, at the strip club drinking on a work night.

that's amazing...however the only thing i can think of is that is going to be a pain to clean when it comes toaster cleaning time.
You're supposed to clean these things?

Plus, a true Pop Tart aficionado will want to dial in their toaster to exactly suit their sophisticated tastes, and not rely on Big Brother's setting for the masses.  :)
