My beloved DM620 with 52K -jumped off trailer

Looks like the cost of repair is not worthwhile.

 

Pretty bummed.  Will see if mechanic friend can try fix it n just ride it without the sleeve if possible.  Just don't have funds for the pipe now.

We named the trailer "Ducati killer"

Won't sell her, will have to finagle something.

Still luv her n hope for another 50k or more on her.

Thought to update if anyone might be interested.

Frame slider puck replaced , brake lever replace , headlight almost finished - need to buy the HID bulb , rear set needs welding , still hoping no fork damage.

So since the price of a new pipe is out of question and the used pipe cost is out of my budget, friends are have started to work on it (personally i have no clue so all i hear is insults hurled for not knowing anything mechanical - the price to pay for free fix up )

Fixing the pipe now.  Initial stage.  Cut and now need some weld done and resin on the Carbon small cracks.

So I bought a wheel choke from harbor freight (I simply can't afford the baxley   ).  
But I don't trust the most likely cheap Chinese shitty bolts that came with it.  
I seriously doubt it is rated for high tolerance.  
I have heard stories of bolts filled with foams that were supposed to be high tolerance.
What exactly should I be looking for ratings wise and quality bolts ?  (where)  any info on this subject is appreciated.

go to your local hardware store, with one of each screw and nut the choke has, tell the sales adviser you want 8.9 or higher grade screws and nuts ... and for extra security, get yourself a small bottle of Loctite® or any other thread locker of medium to high strength and if you can get some pressure washers ...

Actually the instruction give you what size and quantity screws and nuts to use:

Hex Bolt M10x20 4
Spring Washer 8
Flat Washer 4
Pivot Bolt M10x30 2
Bolt M10x70 4
Large Washer 4
10
Hex Nut M10 6

Getting ready to weld the rear set soon.  Pipe is re-packed but need to drill some holes and rivet it.  Slowly but surely she getting back in shape.

So here is the update so far.  Bike is ridable now.  Test rode her tiny bit.  Will pick her up this weekend.

Will work on installing the bulb this weekend and replacing the CF belt cover that I just noticed has a hole in it with my stock belt covers.  I don't think I will buy CF parts again.  I have noticed the wear and browning of it as the years went by on the belt covers.  

Here is some pics of replaced parts.

Pipe  - damaged CF cut and welded back on.
Replaced - Foot peg, Headlight Bezel, Oil Sensor, Left side frame slider puck, CRG lever, sanded adjuster on brake lever,  rear set welded (hope it holds up)

All in all I probably spent $150 on parts and bike friends took of the labor FREEBIE !!  :-)
Remaining Item - replace CF belt cover with stock as it has hole in it as you can see in the pic.

So here is the update so far.  Bike is ridable now.  Test rode her tiny bit.  Will pick her up this weekend.

Looks good AB, but, if I were you, I would take some sandpaper and sand the swingarm . . .I can't tell from the pic if it is pelling paint or rust . . . need to address that . . .

The swing arm was scratched by a tow truck guy years ago when he was trying unhook the chain that popped off.  He yanked his huge chain and F'd it up. 
There is some paint work to do on the rear set weld to blacken it.  I will see what can I can do for the swing arm as well.

Oh, OK . . . if not soon a set of black rear sets OEM will be for sale . . . maybe by the end of the year . . .
