My beloved DM620 with 52K -jumped off trailer
«

A good weekend just got ruined. A great weekend riding West Virginia twisty roads Saturday and Sunday. I mean my first time there and it is one of the most great twisty rides right from the get go. Went Cass train station etc. Route 60 was by far the greatest one I have been on. Can't remember the other 500 miles full of twisty we put on.
Return Sunday evening and I am 20 miles away apt in columbus . MY BELOVED DM620 That i love so much simply because it was my first real bike and I have now almost 52,000 miles on her (all me)
:'( :'( :'(
Fell from the trailer. Not only that. Jumped off from the trailer to the street. F'n Columbus shitty bumpy ass roads. Albiet the driver was not as slow as I would have liked but Shit happens sometimes to good people. I even asked after we dropped off the other bike from the same trailer that "we should move due to weight distribution the bike to middle". My friends laughed at me for being too paranoid. The cables must have got lose after we unstrapped and dropped of one of the riders. I Checked the straps and it was fine but apparently didn't hold. Shitty trailer needs suspension.
I will take full stock of her later this week but initial inspection shows the following. I need to start looking for used parts. :'(
Ducati performance Remus left side pipe cover is shot... (wonder if i can buy the cover alone)
1 CRG lever (brake) shorty broke off
Handle bar
Light ( Just had HID light custom done... The bucket and bezel done)
Rear set (needs welding)
Speedy gauge looks out of place a bit
front fender scuffed only ( i think)
fork seems ok.. bit of scuff (i think )
Dont think there is major structural damage. Frame slider did good job considering.
You can't understand how it feels to see that. I love that bike and want to put more f'n miles on her. My friends were shocked that I was not so angry. I am sad inside. I don't think it has hit me yet. I will post pics tomorrow.
(pic before the accident. no incident the four hour ride back from West Virginia)
(After the jumping off trailer )
The pipes - that will kill me (wonder if I can buy the carbon cover if insides is not damaged. The carbon is cracked and broken)

What he said!
The trailer has no suspension? Weird. If it was big enough to haul several scooters I would assume it would have some sort of leaf spring suspension. Even my 6x10' utility trailer that I use for scooter hauling has leaf springs.
Doesn't matter. Damage to your loved one is all that counts. Sorry for the accident and grief. But thankfully all can be repaired.
Glad you had a great time in the WV twisties!
Sounds like a great weekend up to the time when the bike was launched.

Sorry to hear that about your baby. Trailering is tough if you dont have the proper equip. I almost lost my Duc when I first went to pick it up. I have a 4x6 that NEEDS to be weighted down or else it bounces all over the hwy. I went through about eight 1500lb straps and had to stop every 10 miles or so to readjust. When I got home, the only thing holding the bike up were two straps and the kickstand. I've since gotten a mountable wheel chock and just have to secure it from the rear.

That's all sorts of craptastic.
Having my bike depart my trailer at speed is a perpetual fear of mine.

ab,
I do know what you're going thru ...
If you want a Renthal 7/8" just let me know, I'll have to ship from Panama, but I now have clip ons ...
On the exhaust side, I'd recommend either visit Ca-cycleworks [http://www.ca-cycleworks.com/products/exhaust-systems?engine_size=213&make=170&model=180] for Remus or Arrow or Monsterparts for Marving [http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/DMAS4/E-M600-1000/DMAS4.html]
Either pm me or email me ...

I'm really sorry to hear about that. I'm sick to my stomache thinking about it.
Best of luck with it hopefully you'll get some insurance money and be able to make it better than before for your next 52K.

Havnt checked bike yet. Will do full assessment weekend.
Thx for letting me vent here. That bike in price terms is worthless but to me she is priceless and only material thing of value I own and proud of.
Carlos - I appreciate the offer. Very kind of you.
I will check the link. I have to find out if I can somehow just buy the carbon cover. That is what it seemed done but the inside may be ok. Any info if that is doable?
As for insurance, I won't be claiming it. From looks so far the pipe is the biggest. Will see if gauge is busted or tank dent n mainly if engine is ok. Premium will kill me in future if I claim since I have tons tkt. Besides there is no report etc filed at the time so not sure how that works.
We were talking about buying choke for that trailor too. Darn. I thnk the trailor suspension is crappy if it has it.

That really sux hard. About your exhaust can the guy at Blackdragonexhaust.net might be able to help if all else fails it's worth a try. I almost bought a set of tubes for my cans awhile back so I know he dose that kinda stuff. Good luck.
By the way I have nothing to do with Black Dragon just trying to be helpful.

My condolences to you good sir, that is a gruesome sight! I only know a fraction of what you're going through, as I too have had my bike go down on a trailer before. I was still inexperienced, and had about a hundred highway miles to cover to get to the service shop for the 6k maintenance. A good friend offered his truck and trailer to help me get it down to the shop and back. Before we even got to the highway, he cut a corner too tight, pulled half the trailer up over a curb, and I watched before my eyes my beloved monster tipping over in the trailer! Luckily for me, not only did the bike stay in the trailer, but the frame slider held the bike up off of the side railing. Suffice to say, after we got her stood up and secured again, I took the longest hundred mile trip
EVER
.
I will keep my eye on the WTB section; perhaps I can help you out with some replacement parts. Best of luck on your monster (and sanity) rebuild...
