I have a new set of grips, is there a trick to getting the old ones off other than a touch of brute force??
And I'm swapping to a single bar end mirror I assume the old bar end is just a plug that will pop out with some love from the vice grips??

Not sure about the ends, but as for the grips, compressed air does wonders. If you have no use for the old ones, just cut them off.

twist off plastic cap with vise grips/channel locks. Cut grips with razor blade.

Slightly soapy water works out to be pretty easy. Once they're on you'll have to let them dry for a bit.

Windex works well for sliding them on and evaporates a little faster then soapy water

i spray wd40 using the tiny tube it comes with to squeeze between the grip and bar

+1 works great. Just spray it on the inside of the grip, not on the bar to help minimize mess. |

Hairspray was what we used on our moto x bikes and it worked pretty well, I'm sure the better half will have some lying about.

Quick edit 'new grips and bar end mirror fitted in 12 minutes, getting rid of the standard mirrors totally updates the silhouette. New grips make the bike look quite modern, surprised at how a simple addition makes such a big difference'
