Side topic, but I don't get why Moto2 is a better, more descriptive name for the class? Yeah, it's Moto2 now because that's what the bikes are... Moto2 bikes. "250" was a damn good name for the class because they were 250cc bikes. It's an apple and oranges thing. Moto3 will be appropriate because they aren't 125cc GP bikes anymore after this year. Maybe I'm just missing the whole point. Wouldn't be the first time. Grin

in actuality, "moto 2" (and "moto 3") are less descriptive names. they're "catch all" names that leave the organizers open to changing the underlying formula without being "boxed in" by a name that directly reflects something likely to be changed by the regulations, like engine displacement.

Not worth it. I had some long explanation typed out but then I realized, I simply don't give a shit as people are just trying to be douchebags in someone else's thread.

If we want to discuss the reasoning behind FIM and Dorna naming Moto2/Moto3 how they did, then someone can start a new thread for it. Otherwise, let this thread return to its original intention of paying homage to Simoncelli.

Not being a douchebag, just asking a quick side bar question. No biggie. I've been a douchebag before and it didn't feel like this. laughingdp

derby/update:

Maybe the Moto2/250cc Nazi Police will come around and claim I'm trying to rip people off, but I figured I'd do something that would help bike racers and memorialize my favorite lunatic out there (in 250cc and MotoGP).

So here's the deal if you guys want:

Colin and I are going to make some of these. $5/pair. We're going to donate $2 of every sale to the Air Fence Fund since they are 'local' to the US, could use the help, and keep racers safe on our tracks.

Website: http://actionfund.roadracingworld.com/

The stickers are 4 inches wide and we wanted to keep it pretty simple.... something people wouldn't mind putting on their bike or car or tool chest or fridge or what ever... Nothing with halos or morbid "death" shit... just something about how awesome this maniac was. Stickers are printed, white on black since that goes best with everything and is subtle. We've only made 200 of these, so get them while they last.

***UPDATED***

Papal: ciao_sic@yahoo.com

If you would like to avoid us getting hit with the 3.5% fees, please mark it as a gift. If you don't, that's fine (not ripping anyone off). Please include the quantity, your full name and shipping address so we can get these sent out and to the right people.

Ciao Sic, I'll hang a leg out in the next braking zone for ya!

Got the OK from ducpainter, and we agreed that the DMF would be represented in the donation to the Air Fence Fund.  bacon
