What chain do you guys recommend for my 09 M696. I was thinking about ordering the DID VM 520 Premium X-Ring Chain from CA-Cyclesworks.

Great chain! If you clean it regularly it will last for quite a while.
And you can't beat the $98 price tag!

Yep and yep.
Sprockets? They should be changed with the chain.

Front or rear or both? If the teeth looks like they are in good shape, do I need to change them? I only got 10k miles on her.

It's a good idea to change them all at the same time so you don't have any uneven wear.
If your sprockets are still good why are you considering changing the chain right now? Has the chain been adjusted? Is there any rust? Any tight or crimped links?
I've got a little over 12k on the chain and sprockets on my 750 and everything is kosher.
If you're cleaning and lubricating the chain and sprockets regularly and are fairly easy on the throttle hand your final drive should last you for some time.

Both. As good as they look chances are if you match them to new ones you will see wear though they look good. This is also a good time to change ratios if you like. Ca Cycleworks will help you out with sprocket selection also.

There are a few kinks in my chain. I don't clean my chain as much as I should and there were a lot of dust storms here in Arizona this year

I got that chain & a +2 rear sprocket from Chris like 8 years ago. The gold looks awesome, and easy to maintain.
