1995 m900

« on: November 10, 2011, 10:16:02 PM »

So here is the story. I am about 75% done completely rebuilding my '95 m900 I mean doing about everything I ever wanted to do to it. Of course I find my dream bike for sale. It has been dropped but is so minor I really don't care about that (I actually allready have all the parts in my possesion to fix what is wrong). My question to you ppl in ya'll's collective wisdom/experience (hopefully with a situation like the one I am finding myself in) is what would you do. Drop the baby girl you have toiled over until no end and go for the dream bike or stay true? Please help I know she wont be up for sale long at all so let me know what you think.

Depends on what the dream bike is.

Supermono?  Hell yeah.

Indiana?  Mmmm, not so much.

my votes would be 1st for Boobies of course and then option #3, to find a way to make both happen to coexist together in your possession...

i agree that we need to know what's the dream bike... but if it was truly my dream bike, i would get the dream bike.  because if you dont you will keep on kicking yourself everytime you think about it.

it's a bit like what happened to me when i got my 796... i could have gotten a brand new 09 sf for the exact same price but decided not to.  and everytime i saw a sf i was always wondering if i should have gotten that instead.  and well... now i have a sfs Cheesy

Option #3 - do whatever it takes to have both.

This.

If the mysterious dream bike is the same model as the one you're working on, keep what you have.  You know it inside and out.

If it's a different model, do what you can and just get it.  Sell stuff, small (read responsible) loan, etc.  Life is far too short and riding years even shorter.

What will you tell your grandchildren?

OK so the mystery bike is a Foggy. Maybe not everyone's dream but owning one of three hundred really appeals to me not to mention I have wanted a four valver ever since getting my '95. Thanks for the input.

get the foggy and sell off the old girl if you can... having two monsters in the garage doesnt really make sense to me.  a monster and something else a bit more focused does however.
