id buy that if they gave more real estate for the passenger. and id buy it again if it was priced right against the Multi 1200

I bet it is less useful than the Multi off-road.  no skid plate, and a handy chunk of plastic to smash against rocks.  And no protection whatsoever for whatever that hunk of metal is hanging off the engine.

This.

It's interesting looking. Not unlikable, really.

But it looks very, very badly suited for anything rougher than some light washboards on a dirt road.

I dont see it as an adventure bike. I see it as something that will compete with the honda crossrunner or the suzuki V Strom. not the rugged adventure bikes.

I totally agree. It would be even less useful off road than the already not-very-useful Multi.

Well, it is just a design exercise and not even done by MV itself, so it's a little early to be picking nits. But I'd agree that it definitely looks more like an upright sport tourer than an adventure bike. In my opinion - if this were a settled design - those looks would cripple any attempt to compete with the the offerings from Ducati, Triumph, Yamaha & BMW. BMW pioneered the idea that buyers will open their checkbooks for a bike that LOOKS rugged and outdoorsey, even if its not exceptionally capable off road.

This one doesn't look like I'd want to take it anywhere I can't go confidently already with my ST2...

The overall look of the fairings made me think of this:

Which isn't my favorite-looking bike, but beauty is in the eye of the check-writer.

I actually kind of like the VFR1200 looks.

The MV reminds me of this Honda abomination:

Like it?  Yes.  Whether if it's an adventure bike I don't know, but I do like the looks and the engine is hopefully very good.  Why not a 750 at the same weight?  Don't know how they pick displacements for new bikes. I'm big and fat, but at 675 it's probably pretty spunky.
