Glad you are OK.  I find it hard to believe you can do that much damage without hurting the frame.

Glad you're OK, sorry you messed up such a sweet bike.  Hope you get to put it back together soon.

I think on our older ('00) models we don't have the options others do.  Our speedometer and tach are discrete units, and when you disassemble the cluster what you get are two hermetically sealed units.  I've heard of some using a dremel to cut off the bezel then gluing it back on.

I may get a chance to try this soon.  Both screws that hold the tach guage face have backed out and last week the needle fell off too.

I had a chat with my mechanic friend yesterday and he's going to stop by to check out the frame and motor mounts later this week. Assuming there's no damage to the frame or motor I'm hoping to begin the rebuild as soon as parts start arriving through the post.

Still haven't taken the tach out of the dash but I'll get around to it soon enough. Will post up what I find back there.
