He's horsing that thing pretty good!

I did some service on my 950 yesterday to get it ready to ride this year. I didn't even start it last year so it needed a good once over.

After my crash a couple years ago the front brakes just never felt the same on this and I always thought that they just needed bled. That turned out to be correct. I don't feel like I got a whole lot of air out of it but I bled both calipers and the master cylinder and now there is zero squish in that brake lever. When you pull it you get brakes now.

I also did an oil change and replaced my failed GPS unit with another one I happen to find on Facebook marketplace for 20 bucks.

I set tire pressures and fired it up. It definitely had some trouble waking up after sitting for so long as well as running on 2-year-old fuel. Even with the hot start lever all the way on it was only wanting to fire on one cylinder for the most part.

When I put it away for the winter I always shut off the fuel taps and run it until the carb is dry. I'm glad I did this because given the way it ran on startup yesterday if I had left the fuel on it would have for sure needed disassembly and a carb clean.

It did get to the point where I would idle without the hot start but it would not take any throttle input without breaking up.  Since it was warm at this point I did what any other good motorcyclist would do. Added as much throttle as it would take slowly and then started leaning on it hard.

Reving the crap out of it I had 18 in of flame coming out of both pipes on throttle close.

I suspected that meant lean so I pulled the hot start lever again and revved it hard for a second round and didn't have any fire. Funny enough shutting off the hot start lever at that point and revving it yielded no fire and a properly performing engine.

I guess it just needed a minute to understand what I wanted.

I geared up and took it for a ride to the gas station for fresh fuel got caught in the rain on the way there and back to the house but it was an awesome ride never the less.

I'm planning to get out on it today for a few hours. Can't wait!

I so do love these Austrian things
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

The only thing that makes me look away is a 900 2v with pipes and even then it's not all that long of a look  [Dolph]
